LEADERSHIP

Encik Mohd Razlan bin Mohamed ('Encik Razlan') was appointed/re‑designated as an Independent Non‑Executive Chairman of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd with effect from 1 April 2024.

He holds a Bachelors of Science degree (cum laude) in Civil Engineering from Duke University, USA and an MBA from Rice University, USA. He was an investment banker during the early part of his career attached to Perwira Affin Merchant Bank, Bank of America (Malaysia), Maybank Investment Bank and MIMB Investment Bank. During his 13‑year span in investment banking, he was responsible for arranging and executing large corporate debts, syndicated loans, project financings and private debt securities issuances.

He was appointed as the CEO of Malaysian Rating Corporation (MARC) in 2007, where he held the post for 11 years until 2018. While at MARC, he served as a board member of Asia credit rating industry body, the Association of Credit Rating Agency in Asia as well as a Director in two other international rating agencies, ARC Ratings SA, Portugal and Islamic International Rating Agency, Bahrain. He had also served as an Independent Non‑Executive Director of an Islamic Bank, HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd, an asset management company, VCAP Asset Managers Sdn Bhd and as Chairman of a tolled highway concession company, Senai‑Desaru Expressway Berhad.

Currently, he sits on the board of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Lembaga Pembiayaan Perumahan Sektor Awam (LPPSA), Glomac Berhad, USAINS Holding Sdn Bhd and Pacific Trustees Group International Sdn Bhd.

Datuk Ismail bin Kamaruddin (“Datuk Ismail”) was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd on 15 February 2021.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Cum Laude) double major in Management and General Business from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and a Master of International Business Administration from United States International University, San Diego, California. He began his career in the academia as a lecturer at MARA University of Technology (“UiTM”) in 1985.

He then joined Standard Chartered Bank and held leadership roles within the bank including auditing the bank’s Malaysian and International operations across countries in the Asia-Pacific and African region. Thereafter in SME Bank, he was the Director/Chief Internal Auditor and has also served as Vice-President/Head Business Banking, Vice-President/Head Corporate Management and Vice-President/Head Risk Management. He has more than 30 years' successful track record having had leadership roles and exposure at both top Management and Board level.

Previously, he was appointed as Chairman of BI Walden Ventures Ketiga Sdn Bhd, Chairman of the Investment Committee of SME GAF Sdn Bhd and a Board member of BI Walden Management Ketiga Sdn Bhd, subsidiaries of SME Bank. He was also previously an alternate to the Managing Director for the Ministry of International Trade and Industry’s (“MITI”) weekly Post Cabinet meeting. Datuk Ismail is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Management and the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia.

Haliza Aini Binti Othman ('Haliza') was appointed as an Independent Non‑Executive Director of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd on 10 January 2022. She graduated with an advanced diploma in law from the Institute Technology of MARA

Haliza began her career as a Magistrate upon joining the Judicial and Legal Service in January 1989 before being appointed a Federal Counsel in the Civil Division of the Attorney General's Chambers, and later in her career, as a Principal Assistant Director of the Judicial and Legal Training Institute (ILKAP). She was also a Legal Advisor of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry from 2003 till 2009. She was then appointed the Section Head of International Trade and Finance in the International Affairs Division in April 2009 and subsequently, the Deputy Head of the International Affairs Division. Thereafter, she was appointed as the Head of the International Affairs Division of the Attorney General's Chambers Malaysia until her retirement in December of 2021.

Haliza specializes in international trade, investment, and finance. In her extensive career as a trade negotiator, Haliza has led the Malaysian delegation in the legal working groups for numerous free trade agreement negotiations including the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement ('TPP') and Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership ('CPTPP'), the Malaysia Australia Free Trade Agreement, the Malaysia-EU Partnership Cooperation Agreement and the recently concluded Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement ('RCEP'). She also supervised and assisted policy stakeholders in formulating Malaysia's positions in the WTO Dispute Settlement Understanding Review process.

In her role as Head of the International Affairs Division, she also headed the legal team in international disputes involving the Government of Malaysia in international arbitrations and tribunals as well as national courts of third State.

Haliza had dealt in other areas of International Law including environmental and labour issues, and sustainable development. She has also in the past dealt in international cooperation to combat transnational crimes through mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition.

Haliza retired from Government service on 11 December 2021. Previously, Puan Haliza was a Director of Amanah Raya Berhad.

Puan Azura binti Azman ('Puan Azura') was appointed as Independent Non‑Executive Director of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd on 13 January 2023. Puan Azura graduated from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She has more than 30 years of broad-based experience in the capital markets and the banking industry. Over the course of her career, she helmed senior positions in various firms including RHB Investment Bank Berhad, Bank of Commerce Berhad, Southern Bank Berhad, Ke-Zan Securities Sdn Bhd, Crosby Securities Pte Ltd, Amsteel Securities Sdn Bhd, CAV Private Equity Management Sdn Bhd and HLG Securities Sdn Bhd. Currently, she sits on the board of Titijaya Land Berhad and KJTS Group Berhad.

Encik Mohd Farid Bin Nawawi (“Farid”) was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd on 12 November 2024.

Farid, 58, acquired his Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accountancy at the University of Wollongong in Australia in 1989, where he was also a student leader.

He is an expert in the debt-capital market, fund-raising, treasury and financial management, owing to his 20 years of banking experience culminating in him being the Chief Executive Office of a bank-backed investment bank. He also has a deep understanding of risk management, having successfully initiated and implemented the Enterprise Risk Management structure at Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd, a wholly-owned company of the Ministry of Finance. He re-skilled himself to become a property developer with a sharp acumen of real-estate and property construction. Currently, he is attached to Lembaga Pembiayaan Perumahan Sektor Awam (“LPPSA”) as CEO, a position he has been appointed since 1st September 2020.

He is also currently a Board member of Cyberview Sdn Bhd, a Ministry of Finance majority-owned company.

Puan Nahidah Binti Usman (“Puan Nahidah”) was appointed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd on 7 March 2025.

She is the Head of Finance and Investment, Government Investment Companies Division, Ministry of Finance (“MOF”).

Puan Nahidah started her career in 2001 as the Assistant Secretary of the Human Resource Division at MOF. In 2006, she continued to serve in the same capacity at the Government Procurement Division, MOF, before being promoted as the Principal Assistant Secretary within the same division prior to pursuing her Master’s degree in 2010.

She then returned to the civil service in 2012 as the Principal Assistant Director of the Public Private Partnership Unit (“UKAS”) at the Prime Minister’s Department, before eventually being appointed as the Director of Health & Education of UKAS until April 2019.

She returned to the MOF in May 2019 as the Head of Finance and Investment for the Government Investment Companies Division.

Puan Nahidah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Economics (Human Resource) from the National University of Malaysia. She also earned a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration.

She currently sits on the Board of Malaysian Debt Ventures Berhad, UDA Holdings Berhad, Govco Holdings Berhad, MKD Aman Makmur Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Tanah dan Harta Sdn Bhd and Sentuhan Budiman Sdn Bhd.

She is also a Director of AmanahRaya Group.

Encik Ahmad Feizal Bin Sulaiman Khan ("Encik Feizal") was appointed to the Board of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd on 6 May 2024 as an Non-Independent Non-Executive Director. He brings with him over 20 years of across four continents experience in corporate finance, capital markets, real estate and business management.

He was previously the Chief Business Officer of Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC) primarily responsible for driving the business growth and overseeing strategic communications of the Group.

Encik Feizal began his career as an Auditor at BOO Simpson Xavier in Dublin, Ireland. Upon his return to Malaysia in 2003, he joined the Corporate Finance team of Commerce International Merchant Bankers Berhad and subsequently Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) as Head of Capital Markets where he witnessed the recapitalisation exercise which resulted in the emergence of Dubai Investment Group as the substantial shareholder of Bank Islam.

Pursuant to a short stint heading a property development company in Dubai, he had served as the Head of Wholesale Banking of Century Banking Corporation, the first Islamic bank in Mauritius.

Encik Feizal holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Financial Analysis from University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He is also a Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

He is presently the Group Managing Director of Amanah Raya Berhad and a Director of Amanah Raya Berhad Group.

Encik Mohamad Shafik bin Badaruddin ('Encik Shafik') was appointed as Managing Director of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd ('ARIM') on 20 January 2023. Prior to that, he was appointed to the Board of Directors on 18 August 2022. He graduated with a first class honors degree in Syariah & Economics in 2000 from University of Malaya. In 2003, he completed his Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Graduate School of Management, University Putra Malaysia. He is a holder of Capital Market & Services Representative License.

Encik Shafik joined ARIM as the Chief Investment Officer in November 2018. With over 19 years of experience in the fund management industry, he has held various positions with a number of asset management companies and pension fund since 2004.

Prior to joining ARIM, Encik Shafik spent over 10 years with Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) ('KWAP') as Vice President (Domestic Equities) where he managed internal equities portfolio across multiple mandates. In 2011, he was seconded by KWAP to i-vCAP Management Sdn Bhd as Senior Portfolio Manager where he helped set up the Direct Mandate accounts and manage ETF investments. He started his career in the industry in 2004, as an equity trader at PFM Capital Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad.

Encik Mohamad Shafik bin Badaruddin ('Encik Shafik') was appointed as Managing Director of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd ('ARIM') on 20 January 2023. Prior to that, he was appointed to the Board of Directors on 18 August 2022. He graduated with a first class honors degree in Syariah & Economics in 2000 from University of Malaya. In 2003, he completed his Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Graduate School of Management, University Putra Malaysia. He is a holder of Capital Market & Services Representative License.

Encik Shafik joined ARIM as the Chief Investment Officer in November 2018. With over 19 years of experience in the fund management industry, he has held various positions with a number of asset management companies and pension fund since 2004.

Encik Abd Razak bin Salimin ('Encik Razak') joined Amanahraya Investment Management Sdn Bhd ('ARIM') as the Chief Investment Officer on 1 November 2023. Prior to joining ARIM, En Razak had served BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd as a Head of Equity and BIMB Investment Management Berhad as the Head of Investment overlooking a team of investment professionals delivering competitive returns to investors. En Razak built up his foundation in asset management as an investment analyst at Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) before proceeding to become a portfolio manager in PNB overlooking funds with exposure in equities both domestic and global, fixed income securities, money market placements, as well as alternative investments.

Encik Razak is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder since 2014, and a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) accredited by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) since 2016. He completed his tertiary education at University of Warwick, United Kingdom whereby he holds a degree of Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics. He is also a holder of Capital Market Services Representative License.

Ridza Ahmad Jalaludin joined AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd ('ARIM') in March 2006 and oversees the compliance functions in both the Fund Management and Unit Trust Management activities. He has with him 13 years of experience in regulatory monitoring after previous stints at AmanahRaya-JMF Asset Management Sdn Bhd, AmanahRaya Unit Trust Management Sdn Bhd, AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd and Nomura Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd. Currently, he is the designated Compliance Officer and responsible for all compliance matter at ARIM.

He graduated from the MARA University of Technology (UiTM) with a Bachelor Degree in Corporate Administration majoring in Company Secretarial. He is also registered as a Compliance Officer with the Securities Commission.

Yap Jia Huey joined the company in May 2011 as an Equity Fund Manager. Prior to this, she was with Uni.Asia Life Assurance and SBB Mutual where her experience includes managing equity funds, research as well as product development. She has more than 10 years of experience in the investment industry. She holds an MBA (Finance) from Nottingham University and B. App. Science (Mathematics and Economics) from Universiti Sains Malaysia. She is a license holder of Capital Market & Services Representative and Persatuan Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia (PPKM).

Ivan Koo was appointed as the Head of Fixed Income of ARIM on November 2023, overseeing all fixed income and money market investments of the Company. Prior to that, he was the Senior Portfolio Manager at ARIM before leaving for FWD Insurance to become the Head of Investment. Throughout his career he has been attached with various fund management and insurance companies such as TA Investment Management Bhd, Progressive Insurance Bhd, Affin Fund Management Bhd and Areca Capital Sdn Bhd. Ivan Koo graduated with a Master of Science (Finance) and Bachelor Degree in Finance (Hons) from Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is a license holder of Capital Market & Services Representative. Ivan Koo has more than 15 years’ of experience in the capital market industry.

Azizah Ismail joined Amahraya Investment Management Sdn Bhd (ARIM) in January 2020. She started her career with Public Bank Berhad in year 2012 and was attached to the wealth management business. She has more than 11 years of experience and has worked with various banks/financial institutions such as HSBC Malaysia, Standard Chartered Malaysia and RHB Bank Berhad. Her area of expertise includes sales and marketing of financial products and services mainly in premier banking, insurance, and asset management.

She graduated with a first-class honors degree with vice chancellor award in Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) Marketing in year 2012 from University of Technology Mara. She is a licensed holder of Capital Market Services Representative’s License (CMSRL), Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM) and other related licenses in Banking, Insurance and Asset Management Industry.

Eezan Sofrizan Md Yusof joined the company in May 2013 as the Manager, Operations & Finance before appointed as the Head of Operations & Finance (Fund Management) in 2018. He has more than 25 years of experience in finance, investment and risk management. Prior joining ARIM, he was with few other Companies such as Maybank Ageas Holding Berhad, Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad and Deutsche Bank (Malaysia) Berhad.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Finance & International Business, Cum Laude from University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA.

Denise joined Amanahraya Investment Management Sdn Bhd (ARIM) as the Head of Product Management on April 1, 2024. Prior to this, she served as the Head of Product Development and Management at BIMB Investment Management Bhd, where she oversaw product development, management, and support. Denise brings over 28 years of experience in the asset management industry, having held key positions at several prominent companies, including Alliance Unit Trust, Phillip Mutual Bhd, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad’s Agency Office, Affin Fund Management, and Affin Hwang Asset Management.

She holds a Master of Business Administration from INTI International University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Azura Adlin joined Amanahraya Investment Management Sdn Bhd in year 2006 and currently is the Head of Operations & Finance-Unit Trust. She graduated from University Technology Mara with Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons).

She started her career with Deloitte in 2001 and was attached to the Audit Business Assurance which she had exposure to financial services industry including banking, insurance, property and asset management. She holds a Malaysian Institute of Accountant membership since 2005.

Lili Ghazali joined AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd (“ARIM”) in June 2006 as the Senior Executive, Operations & Finance before appointed as the Head of Operations & Finance (Account & Admin) in 2018. Her task includes overseeing ARIM corporate accounts, administration and human capital. Prior joining ARIM, she has over 7 years of working experience as an Accounts Executive with Bangi Heights Development Sdn Bhd (Subsidiary of UM Land Berhad) and Negara Properties (M) Berhad.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Management, Majoring in Accounting from Lincoln University, New Zealand.

Mohd Fairuz Bin Abdul Jalil (“FJ”) joined our team with a strong academic foundation in Information System Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). His expertise spans IT project management, infrastructure management, system and application administration, and satellite communication, along with a keen interest in data management and analytics, where he continuously seeks innovative ways to enhanced operational efficiency.

Throughout his career, FJ has driven numerous high-impact projects, specializing in business process improvement, IT compliance, digital transformation, and cybersecurity management. His leadership extends to essential areas such as data migration, disaster recovery planning, and strategic IT governance, all aimed at strengthening the company’s resilience and performance. Prior joining AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd (“ARIM”), FJ was with Dell Global Business Center and ABB Malaysia, eventually serving as Senior IT Manager at IconOffshore Berhad, where he oversaw IT strategy and operations with a commitment to excellence and innovation.

FJ holds several esteemed certifications, including Certified Cyber Security Specialist, Applied Data Science, Applied Data Engineering, and ITIL v3 Foundation. His technical skills are further enhanced by specialized training in IT administration and ICT certification from Box Hill Institute Australia.

Ahmad has been appointed as the Head of Human Capital Department at ARIM, bringing over 14 years of HR expertise from roles at Shell Downstream, Shell Business Operations and Malakoff Corporation Berhad. Specializing in HR Business Partnering, Industrial Relations, and Employee Relations, he excels in aligning HR strategies with business goals and fostering positive workplace cultures. At ARIM, Ahmad leads talent management, workforce planning, and compliance initiatives, strengthening the company’s commitment to excellence in human capital management.

He holds a degree in Human Sciences & Literature from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
